Center for the Multiplex Assessment of Phenotype (CMAP)

“Developing New Methods to Assess Genetic Variation at Scale”

CMAP

Overview

CMAP is a Center of Excellence in Genome Science (CEGS) and is one of 13 centers in the United States. By developing and disseminating new technologies, the Center is advancing the promise of the Human Genome Project by interpreting the landscape of human genetic variation.

Objectives / Goals:

  • Develop technologies to reliably assess the functional impact of variants in human genes and to improve throughput/scale and quality of these methods
  • Unlock more complex phenotypes
  • Outreach and education
  • Share center technologies, methods, and resources
  • Train early career experimentalists, clinical geneticists, and data scientists to obtain and use large-scale functional data
