Three BBI scientists have been recognized as “Highly Cited Researchers” by Clarivate, a London-based analytics firm.
The three, Riza Daza, Jay Shendure, and Cole Trapnell, are among more than 6,000 scientists recognized this year in the annual survey. All three have received this recognition previously by Clarivate.
“Alongside our innovative postdocs and graduate students, I’ve shared the privilege of contributing towards a wide spectrum of scientific projects,” said Daza. “These include cell-free DNA for reproductive medicine, saturated genome editing, and developing single cell methods and processes to profile chromatin accessibility and gene regulation. It’s been very exciting to be part of the Shendure lab!”
She, along with Shendure and Trapnell, rank in the top 1 percent of cited researchers over the past decade for their fields of study. They are among 45 scientists recognized from the University of Washington.
In addition, the UW is one of 1,200-plus institutions represented from 59 nations and regions.
In a press release, David Pendlebury, Head of Research Analysis at the Institute for Scientific Information at Clarivate said: "As the need for high-quality data from rigorously selected sources becomes ever more critical, we continue to refine our evaluation and selection policies to address the challenges of an increasingly complex and polluted scholarly record. The Highly Cited Researchers program reflects our dedication to recognizing global influence while maintaining robust selection standards."
