The second annual Genome Medicine Research Symposium, an opportunity for UW Medicine researchers to showcase their work, is scheduled for November 13 from 10 am to 12 noon in the South Campus Center. Anyone seeking to present should submit a one-paragraph abstract of their poster by 5 pm October 23 here.
The event is open to research staff; fellows and residents; undergrad and graduate students; and postdocs.
“The goal of the symposium is to bring together the community of people doing genomic medicine research across the UW campus,” said Andrew Stergachis, M.D., Ph.D., with the Division of Medical Genetics. “This is an environment where people can see what others are doing, get ideas, and spark collaborations. We believe the symposium is especially helpful for researchers early in their professional journeys to better understand what other labs are doing, and, find collaborators and mentors. There has not been a venue like this to bring together the disparate aspects of this community into one room,” Stergachis said. “I think seeing that all together is exciting and motivating.”
